PROJECT BRIEF

We were approached by a property valuer to help streamline their reporting processes. They had grown beyond their previous database and needed a solution that allowed for more comprehensive reporting for stakeholders. The filtering/searching requirements for this app were also quite complicated as they had different business cases that required different groupings of properties.

SOLUTION DELIVERED

Migrated their existing solution from Microsoft Excel to a Microsoft Access database. We also created an online portal that helps them use and update their data easily, and efficiently.

What was the project timescale?
The whole project was completed over 6 months.

What challenges have been faced along the way?
The most challenging part of this project was translating their existing formulas and calculations, into MS Access forms and reports.

What were the successful aspects of the project?
We integrated maps into their system when we had to replace the old browser control.

What special or new features have been used?
This project was the first-time we used MS Access as the front-end and Sharepoint lists as the back end.

What went “sub-optimally”?
We had multiple revisions to our original scope and as such it took longer than expected to complete.

What training or other materials were provided?
We provided training manuals and videos to walk the client through the new platform.
